One of only a select few of full time professional Ornamental and Rose Engine turners, of over 20 years. Inspired by the work and writings of the 17th, 18th, and 19th century Masters of Turnery, such as Marcus Heiden and Johann Eisenburg of Coburg( c1630 ), Plumier, Bergeron and Holtzapffel.
Mainly working to bespoke orders for clients worldwide. Most of the bespoke pieces are held in private collections. A restorer of pieces for museums. Maker of complex chess, gaming pieces, small delicate items and large Gothic work.
A member of the Register of Professional turners since 1987. A Freeman of both the Worshipful Company of Turners and the City of London. A member of the Society of Ornamental Turners.
Award winner of turning medals from The Worshipful Company of Turners. The Turners Company is one of the City of London’s Livery Companies ( Royal Charter of Incorporation granted in 1604) Amongst his awards are the ‘Lady Gertrude Crawford’ Gold medal and the ‘Twentyman’ Silver medal. These awards can only be given once to an individual and are for pieces of outstanding work.
